. There are many houses with extensive CBUS Automation through out New Zealand that are more then 15-25years old. It is a testament to the fundamental designing of the CBUS system that much of this equipment is still functioning and fully operational. It is also amazing that the latest CBUS devices (switches, sensors, dimmers, relays etc) are all backwardly compatible to these older devices and it is a simple task to update and incorporate the latest technology available.

Examples of new equipment include 4 and 8 channel Universal Dimmers that can directly replace any of the previous 4 generations of Dimmers. This also applies to the new 4, 8 and 16 channel Relay Modules. The new dimmers are full programable to control incandescent, halogen LED spot and strip lights. There is also high-power version of the dimmer: a 4 channel Universal Dimmer with maximum load of 12 amps and up to 5amps for a single channel. This makes it a suitable option for Chandeliers
